Summary: Erythema annulare centrifugum is a skin reaction to different stimuli with the characteristic feature of centrifugal progression. It is a gyrate erythema manifested by affliction of the superficial epidermis and the dermis, and the deep form affecting only the dermis. As an example of the superficial form the authors mention the case of a 24-year-old woman where the disease disappeared spontaneously after one year. The case of the deep form is demonstrated in a 48-year-old man who had clinical manifestations with a recurrent course for 10 years with a tendency of spontaneous healing. In the differential diagnosis of the clinical and microscopic picture is a number of diseases, some of them being serious having an autoimmune and neoplastic character.
