Summary:
In 1994-1998 in the Easte Bohemian region 78 occupational cases of bronchial asthma were
reported. Most frequently the disease developed durin processing of flour, in agriculture, in the
textile industry and in the health services. The most important allergens were flour, plant and
animal dusts in agriculture, textile dusts and disinfectants. Attention is drawn to the fact that
according to a new list of occupational diseases also allergic rhinitis can be notified as an
occupational disease. Early re-allocation in case of initial forms of allergic diseases of the
airways can prevent the development of bronchial astma.
