Summary:

There are many different types of bladder cancer in patients. They might be superficial, muscle invading and metastatic. Variability in bladder cancer forms is supposed to be influenced by various genetic alteration. Diagnostics is provided by various methods with different specificity and sensitivity. The higher sensitivity of the method is the sooner we can detect early genetic aberrations. These aberrations might be markers of oncoming reccurence as well as significant prognostic factor. The aim of this study was to summarize chromosomal aberrations in bladder cancer derived from transitional cells and to focus on the evaluation of qualitative and quantitative parametres of modern diagnostic methods. We included molecularcytogenetic met¬hods as a flow cytometry, FISH and CGH in comparison to commonly ušed cytology in this study.

Key words: bladder cancer, flow cytometry, FISH, CGH, chromosomes
