Summary: Free radicals play an important role in the pathogenesis of inflammatory, degenerative and metabolic
rheumatic diseases.
Administration of Selzink Plus (PRO.MED.CS Praha a.s.), containing selenium, zinc, b-carotene and vitamins
C and E, together with conventional antirheumatic therapy improves elimination of superoxide and its metabo-
lites, thus increasing the patients’ prognosis. Long-term administration of this mixture seems to have even better
results.
