Summary: Concentration of hTau protein and β-amyloid(1–42) were determined in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with
dementia. Genetic assessment of apolipoproteine E were compared with clinical diagnosis of this group of
patients. Possibility of diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease and excluding vascular reasons of old age dementia by
examination of hTau protein and β-amyloid(1–42) in CSF are discussed.
