Impaired memory, attention and executive functions are main domains underlying multiple neuropsychological defi cit. Evidence is accumulating that these impairments are predominantly related to abnormalities in the prefrontal cortex and mediotemporal structures of the brain. Cognitive defi cits are closely connected with malfunctioning in everyday life situations and with a quality of life of patients.
