Summary: In spite of the fact that cerumen has been investigated in series of studies from various points
of view, our knowledge about this kind of secretion in different local pathological conditions as well as in
general diseases remains relatively scanty. The aim of this communication is to summarize present knowledge
and draw attention to this unjustly neglected problem.
