Acute Myocardial Infarction in the 17th Week of Pregnancy Treated by Primary Angioplasty ASCHERMANN O., FORMÁNEK P., Kardiologické oddělení, Nemocnice Na Homolce Praha, |
|
Summary: Acute myocardial infarction during pregnancy is a rare disease, nevertheless in recent years
its incidence is due to several factors increasing.
In the pathogenesis the first place is not held unequivocally by coronary atherosclerosis. Also
some other mechanisms are involved, one of them being the hypercoagulation state during
pregnancy.
From the therapeutic aspect the first place is held by achievement of reperfusion of the
ischaemic heart muscle by opening of the infarcted artery which can be achieved by fibrinolytic
treatment and nowadays by the method of first choice - coronary angioplasty - which can be
performed in somer selected departments. The application of this method as safe and effective
treatment is apparent also from the case-history of a 34 year old patient in the second trimester
of pregnancy which is presented by the authors.
