Velafaxine and Anxiety Disorders

Summary:

       In this article is review about the studies with venlafaxine in patients with anxiety disorders. There are reviewed mostly randomized, double-blinded, placebo- controlled studies, or with active comparator- controlled. Venlafaxine is effective in anxiety disorders. It exists as good evidence for generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) and social anxiety disorder (SAD). In the case of social anxiety disorder is also a representative study in children. Federal Drug Administration had approved indication of venlafaxine for GAD and SAD. In another anxiety disorders the evidence is not sufficient..
