Summary:
Obesity is called epidemy of the third millenium. Its surgical
threatment is fully accepted throughout the world.
The most proper procedures and their results are still
discussed. The authors reffer in the rewiev about the
roots of bariatric surgery in Slovakia. The summary of
recent status is described, too. The authors try to constellate
possible development in Slovakia, as well.
