Summary:
Obstructive sleep apnoea is a sleep-related breathing disorder
characterized by repetitive episodes of the upper airways
obstruction in sleep. It is a frequent cause of excessive daytime
sleepiness and is considered to be a risk factor for cardiovascular
diseases including cerebral vascular disorders. Authors
have presented a review of studies concerned with the risk of
stroke in sleep apnoea patients.
