The divergence in the conception of Pavlov and Bayliss-Starling concerning the function of the
nervous systém Svatos J., Svatos A. |

Summary: The history of the discoveries of the mechanism of the pancreatic secretion is a fine example of the conflict of
two schools and the concurrence of two concepts: The nerve control (Pavlov and his co-workers) and the humoral
control (Bayliss and Starling). Only the synthesis of both conceptions brought about the most accurate model of
the control mechanisms.
