Summary:

Noise has not only molesting and disturbing effect but it also impairs human health. Presented work is focused on non-specific effect of noise in environment of human dwellings situated in prefabricated blocks of flats. Twoquestionnaire surveys establishedas the most disturbing andmolesting noise stamp from flats situated above. The results of maximum noise level LAmax measured during the day were in most cases within admissible below 40 dB/A and only rarely exceeded this levels. Since attempts to reduce this type of noise by means of technical adjustments proved to be little effective, legislative solution ought to be contemplated. Promising solving of humanisation of our housing estates with hardly foreseeable effect is an informal community work.

Key words: noise - prefab building - home environment - stamp - dwelling
