Summary:
The authors assessed the diagnostic accuracy of some laboratory tests in Wilson™s disease. They used ROC
analysis and compated patients with Wilson™s disease with patients suffering from various hepatopathies but not
from Wilson™s disease. The authors suggest to reduce the number of laboratory tests and emphasize the high
diagnostic effectiveness of copper estimation in hepatic tissue obtained by biopsy. The presented paper should
serve as a model example for the use of ROC analysis in other laboratories.
