Presented is a review of hormonal contraception, on the one hand combined, and gestagenic on the other. Focus is on contraindications to each of the contraception methods, their favorable as well as unfavorable effects. Pointed out is the importance for the generál practitioner, of information about what kind of contraception a woman is using and what consequences the use of contraception has on diagnostics and treat-ment in such an ill patient.
