Correlation between Clinical and Pseudodynamic (Cine-) Magnetic
Resonance Imaging in the Diagnosis of Internal Disorders of the

Summary: The authors implemented the pseudodynamic examination of magnetic resonance (cine-MRI) in 30
temporomandibular joints and compared these findings with the so-called working diagnosis. The
position of the disk of a temporomandibular joint assessed by cine-MRI was considered as real. In
76.7 % of cases was the clinical diagnosis assessed accurately. In all patients with the discopathy of
the temporomandibular joint with reduction the clinical diagnosis was in agreement with the
diagnosis based on magnetic resonance. In other cases agreement was less close. The authors
mention the causes of erroneous clinical examination and errors in the interpretation of cine-MRI
of the temporomandibular joint.
