Sexual Aggression in Women
Gerlová E.1, Weiss P.2

Policejní akademie ČR, katedra společenských věd, Praha, vedoucí katedry doc. PhDr. L. Čírtková, CSc.1 Sexuologický ústav 1. LF UK a VFN, Praha, přednosta doc. MUDr. J. Zvěřina, CSc.2

Summary:

The authors provide a review of researches concerning the homo- and heterosexual aggression of women, its prevalence, etiology (especially on the basis of Ellis’ biosocial theory of sexual violence), most frequent forms of sexually aggressive behavior (verbal one, indirect forms, manipulative forms), types and characteristics of sexually aggressive women, and myths we meet in this area. Destroying these myths about sexually non-aggressive women must not supress the sensitivity to sexual aggression of men against women. The authors wish to point only to the fact that women may also use different forms of sexual behavior leading to victimization of men or other women.

Key words: sexual aggression, women, prevalence, etiology.
