Rupture of an Intracavernous Aneurysm of the
Internal Carotid Artery after Endovascular Embolization Buřval S.1, Köcher M.1, Vaverka M.2 1Radiologická klinika, FN, Olomouc, 2Neurochirurgická klinika, FN, Olomouc |

Summary: The incidence of intracavernous aneurysms of the internal carotid artery is not frequent. In the
submitted case-history the endovascular embolization of the aneurysm by spirals was complicated by
the development of a direct carotido-cavernous fistula which was closed by a removable balloon. The
patency of the internal carotid artery was preserved.
