Summary:
The smoking influences all organ systems of human body including gastrointestinal tract: it increases the risk
of many gastrointestinal disease (eg. tumours of oral cavity, oesophagus and pancreas, peptic ulcer, biliary
stones, chronic pancreatitis) and deteriorates the course of that diseases and theirs treatment. Considering
smoking relationship there is an interesting opposite influence of tobacco abuse in inflammatory bowel
disease, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
