Summary:
In a 26-year-old asthenic female patient with a history of several years of weight loss, nausea and
vomiting after ingestion even of small amounts of food, the authors diagnosed aortomesenterial
compression. After previous examination of the passage through the small loops and enteroclysis
the authors used spiral CT for diagnosis. Compression of the duodenum was proved by axial sections
as well as sagittal reconstruction; its cause - stenosis of the insertion angle of the mesenterial artery
- was revealed by CT angiography.
Key words:
aortomesenterial compression - arteria mesenterica superior syndrome - duodenum -
