Monoclonal Antibody Therapy in Haematological Malignancies Klener P. 1. interní klinika VFN a Ústav hematologie a krevní transfuze, Praha |
|
Summary: Monoclonal antibody (MAbs) therapy has emerged as a viable treatment option for patients in haematological
malignancies. Clinical use ofMAbs has been facilitated by recombinantDNAtechnology, which
has been used to engineer chimeric and humanized MAbs. They can be used as „naked MAbs“, or
conjugated (with toxin, radioisotope, or with cytotoxic drug). The author reviews different MAbs used
in clinical practice, or studied in clinical trials.
