The authors evaluated the recording of operations in 1234 gynaecological laparoscopic operations during the first half of 2001 in 9 Prague health facilities. The health insurance company received a total of 3022 codes 51711(laparoscopic and thporacoscopic operation) with a total value of 2 169 796 points and ZUM with a total value of 10 743 562.50 Czch crowns. The reported hospitalization period after these operations is significantly shorter ascompared with classicalabdominal or vaginal operations, however the mean values of the number of days of treatment differ in different health institutions. Errors in the recording involved non-recording of DRG-marker codes , incorrect recording of code 51711 and codes PZT of sub-group 82. The reason for incorrect accounting was lack of knowledge of the recording rules,negligence or an attempt of obtaining a higher compensation by overestimation of data.
