Summary: The authors emphasize the importance of parameters of the supporting base (shape, size, distribu-
tion of pressure of the body on the support) and the projection of the centre of gravity into this
supporting base as markers of the development of postural abilities. For the investigation of the
mentioned parameters a set of examinations was proposed by means of which the first optic records
of supporting bases in infants were obtained.
