The paper gives a brief characteristic of Y. enterocolitica, transmission of infection, type of disease, suitable antibiotic treatment, methods of detection of the microorganism in drinking water, slightly and heavily contaminated surface water incl. waste water. A medium enabling rapid cultivation recommended.
