Interventional Therapy in Central
Venous Stenosis and Occlusions of Dialysed Patients Krajíčková D., Peregrin J. H. Základna radiodiagnostiky a intervenční radiologie, IKEM, Praha, přednosta doc. MUDr. Jan Peregrin, CSc. |
|
Summary: Objective: To evaluate long-term results in patients with haemodialysis (HD) access where percutaneous treatment of stenotic occluded central veins was performed.
Material and methods: Authors followed-up retrospectively a group of 39 patients where successful
percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) / stent implantation was performed.
Results: Technical success was achieved in 85 % of the procedures, in 15 % authors did not succeed
(always in occlusions). The primary 6-month patency rate was 58 %, the secondary patency rate was
92 %. To obtain these results authors had to perform 1.8 procedures per patient.
Conclusion: Successful percutaneous intervention including possible reintervention usually helps
to maintain long-term patency of fistulas.
