Summary: The authors discuss the problem of rehabilitation of a lesion of the upper branch of
the facial nerve. They describe the technique - implantation of a golden weight into the upper lid -
which they used in 12 patients. They emphasize the importance of oculoplastic surgery which
eventually should become an integral part of contemporary treatment of facial nerve pareses.
