Summary:
The authors of the paper evaluated hearing and speech in 124 children, cochlear
implant users, who at the time of examination were at least 3 years after the surgery. The acquired
results were compared to the outcomes of preoperative examination quantified by means of
the ChIP scale (Czech version). The scale assesses the prerequisites for the use of a cochlear
implant. Using the statistic data processing the authors have tried to determine the predictive
value of this method.
