Urological complications ofgynaecologic surgery

Summary:
Gynaecologic surgery is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures. Urological complications arising from gynaecologic surgery result from the close anatomical association between the internal and external genitalia and the urinary tract. The authors háve divided these complications into three subgroups: injury of urinary tract, urine tract infections, and lower urinary tract dysfunction caused by gynaecological procedures. Furthermore, the authors háve analyzed the epidemiology, etiology, diagnostics and treatment of ureter injury, urinary bladder and urethra, vaginal fistulas, urinary infection and lower urinary tract dysfunction caused by hysterectomy or caused by procedures for stress incontinence.
