The paper deals with proven facts and principles of mechanical assessment of the musculoskeletal systém according to Robin McKenzie. It describes all McKenzie syndromes in the lumbar spině resulting in mechanical diagnosis and choice of treatment. The author shows the reliability of palpation of the lumbar spině by comparison with pain behaviour.
