Summary:
The authors describe a mesenchymal rapidly progressing chondrosarcoma in the shoulder area,
despite the fact that is was histologically classified only as a IInd grade malignity. Within one year
after radical resection treatment with amputation of the upper extremity it relapsed and seconda-
ries developed in the lungs. The tumour was quite resistant to chemotherapy. Attention is drawn to
the rare occurrence of this type of chondrosarcoma (only about 1% of total) and the authors give
a review of the literature on diagnosis and structure.
