A Pseudoaneurysm of the Temporalis Superficialis Artery
Hrbáč T., Procházka V. , Paleček T.

Neurochirurgická klinika FN Ostrava

Summary:

Aneurysms of the temporalis superficialis artery (TSA) belong to highly rare diagnoses occurring at least in 1 % of the total number of aneurysms. From the view of etiology, the dominant frequency is seen in traumatic pseudoaneurysms (90 %) that arise due to the disruption of an artery and formation of paraarterial hematoma and its transformation into a fibrous sac. The diagnosis may be established on the base of clinical examination, however, angiography has been a definite diagnostic method. Surgical treatment takes the first place in the therapy for the temporalis superficial artery aneurysms.

Key words: aneurysm, dissecting aneurysm, pseudoaneurysm of the temporalis superficialis artery
