Summary: Advanced liver disease are very often joined to kidney function impairment. In our work the overview of renal complications in liver disease included hepatorenal syndrome. The accurate renal function investigation before planned liver transplantation is necessary. The common used methods for renal function investigation like serum creatitin, serum urea, creatitine clearance on the basis of its urine elimination, predicted creatinin clearance according to Cockcropft-Gault pattern can be significantly different. The more accurate methods for renal function evaluation are mentioned as a cystatin C serum concentration, inulin clearance and isotopes studies. The contemporary view on combined liver and kidney transplantation is mentioned.
