We present the laparoscopic technique for one of most difficult urological procedures - radical retropubic pros- tatectomy. Technique was developed and refined by Prof. Vallancien and Dr. Guillonneau from Institute Montsou- ris, Paris, France. Since January 1998 until now (March 2000), both surgeons have accomplished more than 320 operations and their results are impressive. Low rate of postoperative complications, clear tumor margin as well as excellent mid-term results regarding urinary continence and potency have brought world-wide recog- nition to the authors. This procedures seem to be a new breaking point in the further development of radical prostate surgery.
