Summary:

Jumper’s knee is a clinical syndrome occurring in sportsmen, who extensively use the quadriceps mechanism of the knee joint (volleyball players, basketball players, high jumpers and others). MR is an important method for verification of the diagnosis. A typical finding on MR images is thickening of the patellar tendon. This thickening is accentuated focally in the proximal portion of the tendon, focal enhancement of the signal on T1 and T2W in this area is also present.
