Summary:
The authors describe a case of multiple meningioma manifested by sudden loss of hearing in the left
ear. The complaint of the patient against a change of job (he worked as a signal operator on the railway)
led to a comprehensive investigation which revealed 11 tumours in a supratentorial and infratentorial
position. Based on CT examination they were evaluated as meningiomas, some possibly as osteomas.
Seventeen months after the clinical manifestation the patient died. Necropsy confirmed in all instances
meningiomas.
