The authors focused on adherence to principles of expedient administration of antibiotics as the drug of first choice in selected groups of acute respiratory infections with a predominant viral etiology in children. In a group of 759 child patients acutely examined in January 2001 in 10 medical first aid departments they present the results of their survey.
