The authors present a review of contemporary legislation concerning transfusion medicine. The present legislation is unbalanced as regards the general system of quality insurance in haemotherapy due to unilateral orientation on manufacturers. Prescriptions pertaining to application are indequate. The German model is presented as an interesting example.
