Summary: The scaphoid bone fracture is the most frequent of carpal bones. A reliable imaging
and consequently a correct evaluation of the line of fracture of os naviculare is therefore
difficult in spite of the fact that there are unusually numerous projections for the
imaging. The imaging of os scaphoideum and its pathology is possible be means of
other methods – computing tomography, bone scintigraphy, ultrasound or magnetic
resonance.
The communication is aimed at drawing attention to present contribution and role of
CT in the diagnostics and further treatment of fractures of scaphoid bone and to suggest,
based on the authors’ experience with a group of 17 patients and collaboration
with a clinical physician, a standard for most effective CT examination.
