Summary:
The authors evaluate the possibility to use assessment of otoacoustic emissions in
examinations of hearing in subjects exposed to the risk of noise at work. In control group A and D
and groups B, C and E exposed for varying periods to noise at the workplace the authors evaluate
transient evoked otoacoustic emissions and otoacoustic emissions of distorsion product as compared
with the tone audiogram. It may be said that otoacoustic emissions differ significantly in
different groups and at the same time display a close correlation with the tone audiogram. Therefore
their application in screening of hearing disorders in workers exposed to the risk of noise is
perspective.
