Summary:

       The testing and measurement of the sensitivity of the sense of smell is called olfactometry. In the article we describe subjective and objective methods of olfactometry in historical survey and focus on methods used today, especially on test developed and used in Germany (Sniffin’ sticks) and on test spread in the USA (USPIT – University of Pensylvania Smell Identification Test).
