Summary:
According to epidemiological studies, the occurrence of epileptic paroxysms in multiple sclerosis is 4-times
higher than that in average population. In the case of multiple sclerosis partial epileptic fits may appear with
less typical symptoms with or without secondary generalization. Sometimes epileptic paroxysms occur even
several years before clinical signs of MS are manifested. An epileptic fit may be also the only symptom of
MS relapse. Epileptic paroxysms at multiple sclerosis may be caused both by cortical and subcortical lesions
and their oedema. Our presentation has described two case-reports when epileptic fits were the only
symptoms of multiple sclerosis, and a third case-report when MS was a cause of an epileptic status.
