Summary:
Natural polymorphism of ApoE has been recently studied in changes in intraluminal delivery of cholesterol
and bile acids. Recently it has been suggested, that polymorphism ApoE could play a role in colorectal
carcinogenesis. Natural polymorphism of ApoE has been recently studied in changes in intraluminal delivery
of cholesterol. Numerous studies have been conducted on a series of patients with gallstones and support the
theory, that changes in intaluminal uptake of cholesterol play role not only in patient with gallstones, but
changed growth and transformational potential of the colonocytes, and thus can play role in colorectal
carcinogenesis. We assume that the natural polymorphism of ApoE in context with other genetic mechanisms
and external factors plays an important role in the rise of sporadic colorectal tumors.
