The authors describe an expert system enabling detection, archiving and evaluation of followed parameters during application of nitric oxide in clinical practice. Minimal hardware configuration for detached application work-station is presented. The configuration should guarantee compati- bility of the application device Pulmonox (Messer, Austria) and monitoring system with detecting computer or server of a computer network. In detail there is described software for on-line and long-term trend evaluation of data. The evolvement of complex registration system as a basis for expert system presents a new approach toward evaluation of nitric oxide application in clinical practice.
