Neurologická klinika 2. LF UK, Praha-Motol

Summary:

Positional vertigo is one of the very frequent causes of vertigo encountered in clinical practice. Worldwide it is one of the most frequent causes of impaired balance but under our conditions it is not very often diagnosed. As regards the most frequent type of positional vertigo from the posterior semicircular canal, its treatment is easy and lack of knowledge leads to unnecessary protraction of the patients’ complaints. The objective of the presented paper is to draw attention to corr ect procedures of reposition manoeuvres (Epley’s and Sémont’s) which are effective therapeutic methods.
