Feeding button or skin level gastrostomy is a type of gastrostomy device which is introduced into fully developed gastrocutaneous channel after extraction of gastrostomy tube. This device has been used for long term enteral nutrition, especially in children or restless patients where is a high risk of arteficial extraction by the patient or for aesthetic reason. There are two types of feeding button: fixed by shaped memory or baloon type. The way of introduction, the application of enteral nutrition and care about button, indications, contraindications and complications of this method are described. First experience with feeding button in Czech Republic has been presented.
