Regional Analgesia for Out-patient Surgery
VONDRÁČKOVÁ D.

Centrum pro léčbu bolesti – subkatedra léčby bolesti a akupunktury IPVZ, FN Bulovka

Summary:

Regional analgesia allows for safe surgery without the need for in-hospital treatment and intensive postoperative monitoring. Postoperative analgesia also allows for early rehabilitation, shorter convalescence and decreases the cost of a procedure. Local techniques with continuous application of an anesthetic down the catheter to the wound provide sufficient analgesia even in more painful procedures.

Key words: postoperative analgesia – continuous application of analgetics
