Summary: The advantages of miniinvasive operations were proved in a number of surgical procedures.The objective of
the authors was,based on their own experience with a group of 11 patients,to describe the procedure,discuss
indications,contraindications and advantages of laparoscopically assisted colostomy.This procedure should
become the method of choice in the majority of patients indicated for derivation colostomy.
