Summary:
At a pre-operation examination of a 75-year old patient there has by chance been found anemia
and paraproteinemia. Subsequently there was diagnosed multiple myeloma - Kahler's
disease. Five cycles of classical MOCCA chemotherapy (cyclophosphamide, vincristine,
CCENu, mephalan, prednisone) without any autologous or allogenic bone marrow transplantation.
In the course of therapy there was marked clinical improvement and a decrease in
paraprotein. This treatment is suitable in patients over 65 years of age with a gradual course
of the disease.
