Importance of Dimercaptosuccinic Acid Labelled with 99mTc (99mTc-DMSA)
for the Functional Examination of the Kidneys. IV. Distribution in
a Population Sample, Effect of Body-weight, Age and Sex O. Lang 1 , J. Šantora 2 , J. Šilinger 2 |
|
Summary: The authors examined the distribution of the amount of radioactivity of 99mTc-DMSA cumulated
by the kidneys two hours after intravenous administration in a population sample of 327 patients.
They assessed the influence of age, body weight and sex on this parameter. It was found that the
distribution is slanted to the left due to the physiological character of the assessed parameter and
the type of the population sample. The magnitude of the investigated parameter declines with age
and body weight and is greater in women.
