Summary: Intragastric balloon is endoscopic method for treatment
of obesity. The balloon is placed under endoscopic control
into stomach and it is filled with saline. We are presenting
the first group in Czech Republic treated by this
method. In 20 patients the mean weight loss was 15.6 kg
±9.66 kg (8–37 kg), and the mean reduction in BMI was
4.89 ± 3.38 kg/m2 (2–13). Serious complications were
not observed.
